Tasting Notes
We source a handful of varietals from the Carlson family every year and we’re always impressed by the intense aromatics we see in the reds from their vineyard. Their Sangiovese is usually one of the driving forces behind LeBlend, and, in more bountiful years, we try to peel a little off for vineyard and varietal designation. 2021 was a rough vintage for some varietals, but this Sangio hung in like a champ -- it might be our best vintage of CCV Sangio yet! It has the trademark Carlson Creek aromatic depth, but it’s still light and zippy with a delicious Bing cherry character accentuated by a light savory note and a delicate touch of newer French oak. Spend a little time with this one – it’s so pretty!! Only 3 barrels produced.
